IRIS PAPER FOLDING NOTE CARDS WORKSHOP
June 23
Wednesday, 6:30-9pm
Facilitator: Jody Stack
Cost: $13.00 (Includes all materials to make 3 note cards & envelopes)
Registration Deadline: June 16
IRIS PAPER FOLDING is an easy, fun way to make unique greeting and note cards, framed art, scrapbooking embellishments, even jewelry. Originally from Holland where Dutch paper crafters used the inside of patterned envelopes, you can use gift wrap, lightweight paper, origami paper, scrapbooking sheets, colored envelopes and even holographic paper for a spectacular look. What is IRIS PAPER FOLDING? It’s simply arranging strips of folded paper in a pattern that resembles the iris (eye) of a camera or your own eye. Think of quilt patterns and you have an idea. (See IRIS PAPER FOLDING NOTE CARDS on the SAMPLE WALL at the Center.) The folded strips lay in a window or frame that is an outline for your design. The outline can be geometric like a square or oval or you can have a real object like a vase for flowers or a hat and dress on a lady. Tonight you will make 3 note cards and envelopes in colors and patterns of your choice. ALL MATERIALS included in the cost along with instructions, refreshments and raffle prizes. Try this fun, inexpensive new craft.
