Nothing is more relaxing and iconic as a pictur- esque cruise and dinner on the Mississippi River. Add a colorful and entertaining 90-minute Narrated Bus Tour and a visit to a unique shop- ping area and historic “elevator” ride and you have the perfect Summer’s day along the Mississippi River.

The day begins with 7:30am FREE PARKING and BREAKFAST BUFFET at the Center. At 8am our COACH BUS (restroom on board) leaves for Catfish Charlie’s Restaurant and Pier nestled along the banks of Old Man River. It’s the time of year when the River is bustling with activity with flowers and wildlife plentiful along the banks and on the River. Fishermen in row boats, families in small craft, barges carrying all kinds of goods travel up and down the River.

At 11am we arrive and board The American Lady Yacht – a luxurious 2-story ship with 2 enclosed salons and outdoor seating on the 2nd level (gangway and dining area handicap assessable for standard wheelchairs). Our 2-Hr. Narrated DINNER CRUISE includes stories, entertainment and sight-seeing along with the BUFFET

Roasted Chicken; Beef; Mashed Potatoes and Gravy; Corn; Cole Slaw; Rolls & Butter; unlimited soda, lemonade and iced tea. A Cash Bar is avail- able for other beverages. Visit the Pilot House and say hello to the Captain. We may even have an eagle sighting!

After the Cruise we board the BUS and welcome our Guide for a 90-MINUTE HISTORY and ARCHITECTURE NARRATED TOUR ending at CABLE CAR SQUARE and the FENELON PLACE ELEVATOR. It’s 3 blocks of boutiques and specialty stores offering jewelry, clothing and antiques in quaint Victorian houses. There’s also a Coffee Shop and Café for a quick bite. THE FENELON PLACE ELEVATOR is the world’s shortest, steepest scenic railway – 296 ft. high taking you up from 4th Street to Fenelon Place. In 1882 Dubuque was a “Noon Town” – from 12 Noon-1:30pm everything shut down for dinner. Banker J.K. Graves lived on top of the bluff and worked in town. It took him an hour to get home so he decided to build a railway like he saw in Europe to get up the hill for dinner. For $3.00 round trip (not included in trip cost) you take the completely rebuilt railway just like Mr. Graves and delight in a magnificent view of Dubuque, the River and 3 states!

At 4:45pm we leave with TREAT BAG & BEVERAGE (1 each/person) and ½-HR. REST STOP (at McDonald’s on the beltline in Madison) arriving in Milwaukee at 8:15pm. (This is an exclusive trip only here. It sells out every time it’s offered. We suggest your register early and don’t be disappointed.)
