PARENT EDUCATION & SUPPORT PROGRAMS

Parents and Caregivers are often a child’s first teacher. We offer programs that support this role and their parenting skills. Our parenting classes and support programs offer answers to common parenting questions and enhance a parent’s parenting skills.

This class focuses on creating happy families and responsible kids. With this multimedia parent training program parents of teeny, tiny kids (ages 0 to 6) learn how to:
• Show their tots that whining and arguing doesn’t pay
• Put an end to misbehavior in public
• Smooth-out mornings and bedtime
• Calm sibling bickering and battling
• Take the battle out of meal times, tooth brushing, bathing, etc.,
• Make potty-training fun,
• Teach respect, responsibility, and self-discipline and much, much more!

When parents start Love and Logic early in their children’s lives, they dramatically up the odds that the teenage years will be fun…instead of frantic. They also create kids who’ll begin school ready to learn…instead of ready to drive their teachers batty. It’s never too early to use Love and Logic; it even works with the teeny tiny ones! Turn the terrible two’s into terrific two’s with the easy to use steps. Register today!

When pre-verbal babies and toddlers are able to replace some of the crying, whining, and screaming with simple hand gestures or signs, it can dramatically improve their relationships with parents and caregivers. Signing empowers little ones and provides significant advantages for talking and language development, literacy, and for communicating everyday needs, wants, and interests. Frustration is replaced with understanding and adult-child bonding!

PRE/POSTNATAL YOGA

Tuesdays, 9:30 - 10:45 am
Facilitator: Heather Burkart

Prenatal Yoga classes improve energy levels, flexibility, posture, and tranquility; as well as properly positioning the baby, releasing endorphins and liberating the instinctive process for birth. An hour of yoga is followed by 15 minutes of relaxation exercises, designed to prepare the mother-to-be for handling labor more confidently. This class also nourishes a mother’s body, mind, and spirit after childbirth with restorative postures, calming breath work and guided relaxation. A mother can attend as soon as she feels well enough, ideally after 6-8 weeks (10-12 weeks with a cesarean birth).

Newborns and young infants are welcome; however, solo participation is encouraged when possible. Postpartum mothers are welcome up to 12-18 months or longer.
