YOUTH GAME NIGHT

April 16, May 21, June 18, July 16
Tuesdays, 6:00 - 8:00 pm

Cost: $10/event

Youth 7-13 are welcome to join us for a few hours at the center once a month to demo a special new board game, enjoy some snacks, a movie in the background, and have time to play other games if they want. Bring your Magic or Pokemon cards to test your skills, challenge a friend in Munchkin, or just come hang out with friends.

 

HOOPING

5-Week Sessions
April 23-May 21

Hooping I: Ages 6-8
Tuesdays, 5:30 - 6:15 pm
Cost: $35 per child

Hooping II: Ages 9-11
Tuesdays, 6:30 - 7:30 pm
Cost: $40 per child

A magical world awaits your little hooper! Hoop dancing is a terrific way for your child to explore body movement and creativity.  This class is jam-packed with dance, exciting games, interactive storytelling and lots of fabulous hula hoop tricks!

Hoops will be available in a variety of sizes to use during class. Personalized hoops will be available to purchase through your instructor ranging $20-$30. Your hooper should be dressed to move and groove with comfortable shoes.

 

CRAFTING WORKSHOPS

Fiber Fun Club (Ages 8-13) In this club participants will learn and explore various fiber techniques and crafts. All projects may not be completed in class but supplies will be sent home. Kids are encouraged to bring finished project to they next class to share! Take one session or take them all. Age ranges 8-13 max enrollment 15. All supplies is included unless otherwise noted.

TAPESTRY

Learn how to create your own tapestries using simple at home methods. Participants will make their own mini loom and use art to create their own art works.

DYE CLASS
June 26 • Wednesday, 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Explore various dye techniques, from natural dye to Shibori. Please wear clothes that you won’t mind getting messy and bring a pre washed T-shirt.

EMBROIDERY

Embroidery can be a fun way to mend old clothes or jazz up something boring. We will explore the basics of embroidery from stitches to knotting.

TEXTILES DESIGN

In this class we will learn different at home methods for Batik and Screen-printing. Please wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy and bring a pre washed t-shirt.

 

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Superhero Art and Dance Camp: June 24-28
Lego Exploration Camp: July 15-19
Bugs and Critters Camp: July 29-August 2
Parents, join us in the last 30 minutes on the last day for a presentation of our week.

Superhero Dance and Art Camp: It's a bird, it's a plane....it's Superhero Dance and Art Camp! Calling all superheroes ages 3-5 Dress like a superhero this week and learn the powerful moves of a superhero! We will explore basic introductory dance technique, participate in creative movement games and explorations, and generate and learn choreography to playful superhero music and stories which we will share in a showcase at the end of the week. Each day of camp will also include a craft to accompany the superhero theme. You don't need superpowers to join this camp, but you might leave with some!

Design, Build, Construct!: Let's get to work! Join us for a camp of planning, designing, building, creating and problem solving using Legos, blocks, clay and other crafty, found and recycled building materials. Together we will explore different structures like skyscrapers, and bridges as well as the tools and machines that help us build and construct in the context of play, games, stories, crafts and hands on activities. Students will display work and demonstrate their engineering know how on the last day of class for family and friends.

Backyard Bugs and Critters: Let's explore the fascinating world of insects, spiders, and furry critters that live in our own backyard! Join us for outdoor exploration, discovery, stories, games, music, crafts and movement all centered around the theme of Backyard Bugs and Critters! Campers will showcase their creepy crawly learning on the last day of camp for family and friends.

Kelly Radermacher Butts has been teaching four year old kindergarten, dance and recreational camps for over 10 years and dancing and choreographing professionally for over 15 years . She has a degree in Dance and Anthropology and is a licensed teacher for ages 0-11.

 

All children registering for Youth programs need a Youth Medical Form on file with their completed registration form prior to the start of class.
