Join BVCC on April 20th from 10:00am-1:00pm for our 2nd Annual Strong Families Forum, celebrating Family Strengthening Month!
This dynamic event, dedicated to strengthening, supporting, and empowering families in our community, will begin at 9:45am with an address from Alderwoman Marina Dimitrijevic and a proclamation from Mayor Cavalier Johnson declaring April 2024 to be Family Strengthening Month.
From 10am to 1pm, families can visit stations where they can explore a variety of resource tables and ensure their family’s well-being with health and development screenings. Our newly remodeled kitchen will be home to the Nutrition Program for families to learn firsthand how to make healthy eating both enjoyable and sustainable. Families will also be able to rejuvenate and discover new regulation strategies in the Wellness Nook, where they can go home with a sensory toolkit, and engage in developmentally appropriate activities and STEM activities in the Enrichment Corner.
Each family will have a passport to be filled out at each station, and upon completion, they will receive a Parenting On The Go Bag that can help raise resilient children whether at home or away. A majority of the stations will be offered in both English and Spanish, and free childcare will be provided.
Childcare will be available during the event!
